Work With Me 1:1

Peaceful Forest Scene For Healing and Psychotherapy

Ready For Profound Healing?

I specialize in 100% virtual, trauma informed treatment using CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Treatment and work with those who have been affected by trauma or are struggling with Depression & Anxiety, PTSD & CPTSD, Grief (prolonged or acute) & Addiction. I also work with those who have been (previously) involved in the Criminal Justice System.

Seeing a Certified Nurse Psychotherapist offers patients the advantage of accessing expertise in medication pharmacology, disease pathophysiology, and diagnostics. Nurses can anticipate and address potential side effects or changes in mental or physical status, often before clients notice them. Additionally, they can collaborate with primary treatment providers for further assessment, if needed.

Insurance companies are becoming aware of Nurse Psychotherapists and are starting to include this designation for coverage. It's recommended to contact your insurance company to confirm if Certified Nurse Psychotherapists are covered under your plan.

Who This Is For..

  • Patients who actively desire healing and may have experienced dissatisfaction with previous mental health providers.

  • Individuals committed to delving deep into the root causes of their suffering, demonstrating openness to the therapeutic process despite fears.

  • Patients who take responsibility for their healing, approach the process seriously, and are willing to engage with the offered interventions with intent.

What To Expect

  • You are required to fill out an intake form and consent forms, essential documentation for the process. If you have any questions or need clarification regarding the forms, please feel free to reach out to me for assistance.

  • Our first appointment will be spent getting to know one another and discussing why you wish to come to therapy, what you are hoping to gain from coming and what your expectations are around your journey towards mental wellness.

I will ask questions that may cause you to think in a different way than you have before. I will ask you to expand on issues that you feel are causing you problems in your life. It is like picking petals off a daisy, one by one, exploring and going deeper to uncover what is hidden that you may or may not be aware of. This process is slow and gentle.

  • Sometimes therapy hurts and is challenging. My request is that you sit with it. Let it happen and FEEL your way THROUGH. This will likely be a new skill to learn as we ALL have been socialized and taught to shove our emotions down, to be “tough”, to “suck it up”. In this space, we uncover, we allow, we are patient and curious and most of all, we are gentle with ourselves.

This process is not rushed, and it takes as long as it takes. There are no time limits on our healing.

Healing is not linear. Healing is a bit like a roller coaster. Sometimes we feel amazing after a session and other times we may feel raw and vulnerable. Both are completely normal. After more challenging sessions you will be encouraged to go easy with yourself. Spend some time doing self care activities; whatever those may look like for you. Sometimes a nap and some hot chocolate or ice cream is the perfect recipe post therapy. Other times it may be a long walk or watching a favourite tv show, or journalling. Learning to be more self compassionate in these times will see you through those tougher therapy days.

Some sessions will be very prescribed, structured and others will be more organic. This will be dependent upon the issue[s] that we are addressing and how best to work with and through these challenges.

  • Expect homework. Nothing too taxing, but the intent behind homework is to remind you that the real work is done outside of the session, in your day-to-day activities and interactions. Let’s keep the momentum we gather during the session alive in between our meetings. Questions are always welcomed and encouraged.
